Best Organic Clothing for Men Health, Style by theorganicbunny on December 29, 2024December 30, 2024 Did you know that even the clothing we wear should be as Organic as possible and yes, for men too!? Unlike conventional clothing, which is often made from synthetic fabrics then treated with toxic chemicals, Organic clothing is crafted from natural fibers like cotton, hemp, and wool, and always grown without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. This makes Organic clothing gentler on the skin which helps to reduce the risk of irritations or allergic reactions, especially for those with sensitive skin. Men also have another risk when it comes to conventional clothing and that is the fact that many of the chemicals in their clothing, can actually disrupt their endocrine system, just like ours which are linked to lower sperm counts in men! So, your man may not understand why Organic clothing is a must but, you can so I wanted to share some of Kyle’s faves! Why To Choose Organic ClothingSeveral chemicals, commonly referred to as endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), have been linked to lower sperm counts in men, and yes, many of these are being hidden in our clothing! Just like they affect us women, these same chemicals can interfere with men’s hormone regulation, especially when it comes to reproduction. One of the most wild examples of this is with phthalates, which are found in a wide range of plastic products, clothing items, cosmetics, and household items. Phthalates can mimic or block the action of natural hormones like testosterone, potentially disrupting sperm production and quality.Another class of chemicals, bisphenol A (BPA), is commonly found in plastic containers, canned food linings, and some clothing pieces. BPA can also mimic estrogen, our female hormone, and has been shown to affect male fertility by lowering their sperm count and motility! BPA can also be found in certain synthetic fabrics, especially in the manufacturing of polyester and other types of plastic-based fibers, as well as in the dyeing and finishing processes of textiles which is basically ALL of our clothing today! And then, we have fabrics with plastic or water-resistant coatings which can also contain BPA as part of the chemical treatment to make them more durable, stain-resistant, or wrinkle-free. Whenever I see anything “waterproof” or “wrinkle-free” it’s an automatic NO.Pesticides and herbicides are another area of concern in non Organic clothing, as they also contain chemicals that can alter reproductive function. Pesticides can be found in clothing, especially those made from conventionally grown cotton. Cotton is one of the most pesticide-intensive crops globally, with large quantities of synthetic pesticides and herbicides used during its cultivation to control pests, weeds, and diseases. These chemicals can then remain on the fibers of the cotton, even after processing, and may be present in the finished fabric. When these clothes are worn, there is a potential for skin absorption, which can pose health risks over time, particularly for individuals with sensitive skin or allergies. In addition to the pesticides used during the cotton growing process, these fabrics and materials then also undergo harsh and toxic chemical treatments during the processing phase, such as being slathered in insect repellents, bleaching agents or flame retardants, which can all contain toxic substances. You always want to reach for Organic cotton as it is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, which is a much better and safer alternative. Organic cotton farming uses natural methods of pest control, such as crop rotation and the use of beneficial insects, which significantly reduce pesticide exposure in the final product. I think most people think Organic is just a buzz word to justify charging us more money but no, it really does mean things are made much better so I try to choose Organic, as often as I can, even when it comes to our clothing!Organic Brand Kyle LovesThe truth is, finding Organic clothing that is actually stylish is HARD. And, if it’s ugly neither myself or my husband will want to wear it which is why I try to find as many cute items as I can and then, stock up. One brand we found recently is called Taylor Stitch and it has a ton of Organic clothing options with super trendy and stylish pieces to shop from. When I first came across them, on my own as this is not sponsored, I was super impressed by the colors and quality and then shocked when I saw it was actually Organic, how cool is that!? The best part is, they make clothing that I like and that he actually likes too so there is no battle. So, perhaps it’s time for your man to also kiss those RVCA shirts goodbye and say hello to dressing like a grown up with clothing you will both love. If so, this is the brand for you!Kyle is typically an XL across the board and I would say that this brand fit pretty true to size! We got several items just to try them out for the first time and he loved every single thing which is not usual! Actually, the one item he did not love were the Merino Boxers. They were 95% Wool so we were hopeful they would work but they were super long which you would never guess in the photo online, they seem normal but on him, they were soooo long. He is going to keep them and try them out a bit more but so far, he did not love the length although they are very soft! Here is a bit more about the brand values that we love! Most items are 100% Organic which is so hard to find with nice, stylish options to choose from. They even have Organic Corduroy and Cotton Waxed Canvas If they are not Organic, then they also use Wool. They do have some polyester and nylon so be sure to check each style if that is something you want to avoid. They are committed to using recycled and regenerative fibers wherever possible. This will help lower water usage, get rid of chemicals and pesticides which harm workers and leach into the rivers and help close the loop to create a cradle to cradle supply chain. Their clothing is made to last forever so they have a repair or replace guarantee! Instead of using toxic water repelling chemicals, they use dry wax instead for wind and water repellency.Items Kyle Ordered And LovedThe Ledge Shirt- This is a traditional flannel shirt made out of 100% Organic Cotton Twill that is super soft and fitted to perfection. Most flannels are bulky, itchy and boxy but not this one, the perfect flannel does exist! This is a very high-end flannel that comes with their repair or replace guarantee which means this will last you years and years. Kyle’s Tip- Kyle says that he also loves the forearm fit as it’s, again, very fitted and not loose so it rolls up really well and stays put. It is thin enough to layer but also warm enough to wear on it’s own as long as the weather isn’t too cold. He also just really loves the color of the Olive as it pairs well with so much! This fit true to size, Kyle got the XL.The Miller Shirt Jacket- This is probably his favorite item of the haul as it really is just a super nice jacket also made from 100% Organic Cotton Wax Canvas which is crazy to me. I still cannot believe we found such a nice brand with so many stylish cuts that fit as well as they do, this is certainly a needle in a haystack find we’re both so excited about! This jacket is also covered in a dry wax instead of toxic chemical coatings which makes it wind and water repellent for a bonus feature! This jacket is a bit boxy so I personally think it looks best unbuttoned but they can always button it if they get cold. This fit true to size, Kyle got the XL.Kyle’s Tip- For this one, he loves that there is no hood and just the overall the look of it! He likes the muted sage color and the quilted pattern. He also likes that it’s not super puffy or heavy while still being warm and that you can wear it both open or buttoned. The Shop Shirt- This material is very stiff and not soft at all as it is made of 100% Organic Cotton canvas, designed to be a more durable, long lasting option. The more you wear it also, the softer it does get so get to wearing it! This is pretty self explanatory, it really is just a nice layering piece to wear over your Ledge Shirt or something similar. Throw this on with some jeans and boots and you’re good to go. This fit true to size, Kyle got the Penny Brown in XL.Kyle’s Tip- At first, he didn’t really like how stiff it was but he now realizes that it gets softer the more you wear it and it just feels like it will last forever as it is super durable. He also really likes the color and that it’s great for layering! Kyle is also more athletic so to find jackets that fit his chest and arms that aren’t as huge as a house was a big perk too. Great fit!The Apres Pants- Kyle would never have picked these out on his own but after I told him I thought they would look good, he was open to trying them on and once he tried them on, he agreed that they look really nice! These pants are basically like a luxury, super stylish take on a jogger as they are made with a unique 100% Organic Cotton knitted like fabric that elevates a look without compromising comfiness. These are a must for a movie night or just running errands! These fit true to size, Kyle got the XL.Kyle’s Tip- He likes that he can move in them easily and not feel like he’s ripping them. He has pretty thick thighs and they were very thick thigh friendly so he could easily take a knee or kneel which he felt was important to share lol. He plans to wear them on a casual date night or to travel, the perfect upscale airplane pant!Second Order Already En RouteKyle loved the brand so much, we went online right after his order came and ordered a bunch more. This is definitely his new brand which I am thrilled about because it’s mostly Organic, looks and fits great and feels more manly and adult compared to what he usually wears so, a win, win for all. Pick out a few pieces with your man, I guarantee they will be impressed and keep us posted on what faves you find! Here are the other items we just ordered that are now on the way!The Maritime Shirt Jacket in Olive- This is another really nice Wool flannel! The Deck Jacket- This is another really nice jacket that is wind and water repellent. Great for layering with a nice collar. The Saddler Shirt- This is the prettiest midnight blue Wool shirt, great for layering. The Western Shirt Jacket- Kyle wasn’t sure he liked this at first but I think it’ll look great with the tan pants we got below plus, it’s 100% Organic cotton denim, how cool is that? The Chore Pant- I love these pants as they look like upscale work pants, also made from 100% Organic Cotton! He actually for the Stone Tan and the Aged Penny Brown! The Evans Crew- This is just a really nice Organic Wool long sleeved in the prettiest cream color, perfect for layering. The Camp Sock- Kyle wanted to try their socks so we got one pair in Marled Coffee Brown! They were 85% Organic cotton with a padded toe and footbed that looked both warm and cozy.Coupon CodeSadly, when I reached out to join their affiliate program, they said they do not give out coupon codes but they do have 20% OFF your first order if you go to their main page, be sure to sign up for the discount and stock up, you can always return what doesn’t work!BootsTo complete the look, Kyle really needed some new boots. We have lived in a snowy, chillier climate for 4+ years now and he has yet to invest in a nice pair of boots that he can wear almost anywhere. So many of the boots out there are not cute so, we put together a list of a few of both of our faves if your man needs boot ideas as well! Here are some of our faves!Overall, we are really excited about this brand and I know you will be too! Be sure to tag me in any fun pics or let us know what pieces the man in your life loved too! Also, if you want to get your man into cleaner products too but don’t want to battle him, we also did a blog on Kyle’s favorite products like skin care, hair care, cologne etc… My suggestion is to just buy a few and leave them out for him without telling him they are cleaner! Hopefully, he will try them and love them and want to use more and more!
